Refrigerated Air Dyers

Air/Tak Direct Expansion Refrigerated Air Dryers are designed to remove moisture from compressed air by transferring heat from the air to the refrigerant. Direct expansion is the most efficient form of heat transfer technology used in dehumidifying compressed air. Compressed air comes in direct contact with the refrigerant circuit and therefore offers the most efficient method for drying air.

Refrigerated air dryers provide dew points of 38°F for many indoor compressed air applications. Incoming air enters an air-to-refrigerant heat exchanger where the air is cooled to 38º F by the liquid refrigerant. This process causes the moisture to condense into liquid water and it is drained away. The outgoing air then enters the air-to-air heat exchanger and is warmed up to prevent pipe condensation.

Specifications:

SD Series for flows rated 10–40 SCFM
BDA Series for flows rated 50-200 SCFM
D Series for flows rated 300-7500 SCFM

Advantages:

  • Non-cycling
  • Heavy-duty Heat Exchanger and Condenser
  • Low pressure drop conserves air power
  • Maximum operating pressure of 250 PSIG

The AIR/TAK SD Series dryers are designed for smaller flows.  They use a direct heat transfer method using copper tube evaporators and are packaged using tightly foamed insulation.

Specifications:

Model: SD Series Flow rate: 10 - 40 SCFM Pressure dew point to: 38°F Dew Point

Advantages:

  • Non-cycling
  • Copper Tube Heat Exchanger
  • Access panels feature quick turn fasteners and handles for easy maintenance

The AIR/TAK BDA Series dryers utilize a stainless steel brazed plate heat exchanger for added reliability and to prevent corrosion. The non-degrading foam insulation protects the heat exchanger and maintains the cooling effect.

Specifications:

Model: BDA Series Flow rate: 50 – 200 SCFM Pressure dew point to: 38°F Dew Point

Advantages:

  • Non-cycling
  • Insulated Stainless Steel Heat Exchanger
  • Access panels feature quick turn fasteners and handles for easy maintenance
  • Maximum operating pressure of 250 PSIG

The AIR/TAK D Series Refrigerated Air Dryers combine innovative design with proven performance to produce a 38º F dew point. The standard model range for 300 to 7500 SCFM capacity with air-cooled or water cooled units to meet your installation requirements. The innovative heat exchangers unify the cooling and moisture separation process. Designed for a lower pressure drop that most

Advantages:

  • Non-cycling
  • One of the lowest pressure drops in the industry
  • Optional energy-saving compressor unloaders available in flows 4000 - 7500 SCFM
  • Patented shell and tube heat exchanger eliminates the need for a mechanical separator
  • Open frame design for easy access on flows 1250 SCFM and up
